The economic environment of the media market in 2022, Serbia

Serbia managed to reach positive economic growth in 2022, even though Europe was deeply impacted by the Ukrainian war. The annual inflation in November reached 15.1 percent, which is an infamous record of the last 15 years. In 2022, a record amount of foreign direct investments of more than four billion euros were channeled in Serbia, which is more than before the corona virus pandemic, when foreign direct investments in 2019 accumulated to 3.8 billion euros. This positive growth was reflected in the increase of the value of the media market, a significant 8% in 2022 (242 mill eur in 2021 vs. 263 mill eur in 2022). Media prices were adjusted to follow inflation, so the increase of media spending is connected to this fact as well.
