The economic environment of the media market in 2022, Slovakia

The Slovak media market, like many European countries, faced the ramifications of two major events in recent years—the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine. These events resulted in an economic slowdown and increased consumer caution. Moreover, the escalating energy prices impacted the overall cost of economic inputs, further influencing the media market. Amidst these challenges, the Slovak media market experienced a visible year-on-year growth* in net media spending during 2022, brought on by upswing in consumer confidence post-COVID and soaring inflation.
