In 2022, the Czech media market experienced a strong economic rebound following the post-COVID-19 recovery. However, this economic resurgence was swiftly followed by the spillover effects of the war in Ukraine, leading to rising prices, increased costs of doing business and an ensuing surge in inflation, which significantly impacted the local media market and advertising industry. Notably, the Czech media market saw an impressive over 20% year-on-year growth in net investment during 2022, of which much can be attributed to the surge in inflation. For 2023 the outlook is quite similar, inflation is expected to remain high at 13%.
