The Media Market in the Czech Republic 2023

TV inflation is expected to surge to 20% in 2024, driven by the strong positions of the two main TV groups and a lack of inventory. The growth of prices in online advertising is similarly high, at 15%. Ad prices in other media categories will also rise significantly, with overall media inflation in 2024 estimated at 17%.

Warner TV, a film and series television station within Warner Bros. Discovery, will be commercially represented in the Czech market starting on April 2, 2024, by the media agency Atmedia. From the same date, Warner TV will join the official TV ratings measurement, enabling Atmedia to sell its advertising space based on GRPs (Gross Rating Points).

The new station Nova Sport 6 will become the exclusive home for broadcasts of the world's most prestigious MMA organization, the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship), and MotoGP.

Google is increasing its share of the search market over Seznam, a local search player.

While the share of TV advertising remains stable, the growth of online advertising is still more dynamic. On the other hand, print media continues to decline. In online advertising, there is a growing focus on video ads and mobile advertising. Programmatic buying is becoming the primary method for purchasing display campaigns, with 72% of online advertising space now bought programmatically.
