The political environment of the media market in 2022, Romania

Romania is led by a bizarre political alliance - a mix between socialists and liberals. These parties made an agreement that in May 2023 there will be a government rotation, the first in the country's history. This rotation has already taken place, but it was preceded by extensive social movements, the most important being the teachers' strike, which led to the disruption of the education process, even in the last part of the 2022-2023 school year.

Another important element is that 2024 will be a 100% electoral year, with 4 rounds of elections: local, parliamentary, European parliamentary and presidential. The fight has already started, and televisions are fully reflecting it.

All the above will surely have an influence on the budget split between main media trusts in Romania.
