The political environment of the media market in 2022, Slovenia

At the beginning of the year, we had major political changes in the Slovenian government, going from right to central-left liberal politics with Robert Golob's government and his entrepreneurship ideas. His Freedom movement was also marked as a media freedom movement. Along that, we had presidential elections in the second half of 2022 choosing the first female president of Slovenia – Nataša Pirc Musar. In 2015 Pirc Musar was a general director of our national television RTV so she is strongly opinionated and opposes the division of the informational program of TV Slovenia into two parts and opposes the current editorial policy at RTV.

It remains to be seen how will both Golob's and Pirc Musar's politics influence the media market in the next years.
