TOP 5 consumer trends in Croatia, 2023

Digital Nomads

With remote-work on the rise, Croatia is positioning itself as an ideal location for digital nomads. In 2021, Croatia has legally regulated temporary stay of digital nomads and tax exemption for incomes, and thus has created a quality precondition for the growth of the number of people who will choose Croatia as their place of work and residence. This has in turn influenced the rise of co-working spaces, long-stay apartment rentals and digital nomad valleys.

Weekend Getaways

After the no-travel period induced by the coronavirus travel restrictions, people have found the joy of travelling and discovering new places again. The wanderlust has been supported by low-cost airline Ryanair that launched 27 new routes in just 12 months after its arrival in Zagreb Airport in June 2021, and inspired people to explore these short-break destinations.

Cooking Robots

The robots are welcoming us in the stores, sorting packages and cleaning our houses already; now, the time has come to have a robot that will cook for us. While we still cannot let the cooking robots in our houses, the first robotic restaurant in the world was opened in Zagreb, under the name Bots&Pots, with five robot employees.

Micro-dating

Between their regular jobs, extra jobs, TV-show binge-watching, going to the gym, hanging out with friends, reading books and going to concerts, people are often too busy to spend quality time with their partners. This hectic lifestyle gave birth to a new love life trend: micro-dating. It is the minutes that you dedicate to spend quality time with your partner every day.

Experience Stores

With the dominance of digital shopping that came through after the pandemic, retailers are re-opening stores focused on experience, tranquility and enjoyment. No matter if it is a bedding store, a butchery or a new cosmetic store, the goal is the same: to use the space and atmosphere to experience the brand values in person.
