Hyper-alternative

The trend is part of the seeking of authenticity in people’s lives. In a hyper-changing world full of stress, even burnouts, many people try to find the way back to themselves, claiming that the soul and the body being connected in one lead energy organism. Practicing alternative Practicing Chinese or ayurvedic medicine, bio-resonance, homeopathy, hypnosis, yoga, meditation and many other alternative ways of healing is a huge trend all over the world.

Local first

It is trendy to buy local products, to use local services and to get anything in connection with the local community. And a great answer to the general ‘fight’ against the massive attack of big worldwide corporations and brands. People need to feel the human touch, and many customers like to support their neighbors.

Healthy food

The trend has been going on for several years, and it is strongly connected to the previously described trends and the extremely fast way of living. Reducing the intake of sugar, salt and meat, avoiding artificial preservatives and other “chemical stuff” is often typical in the most active part of the population.

No-packaging purchase

The growing awareness about environmental issues among the younger population leads many shops to offer groceries without packaging. Customers buy food products, bringing their own packaging (mostly glasses).

E-commerce explosion

In the last two COVID years, even elderly people have discovered the advantages of e-commerce. The growth of the number of people shopping online is explosive: groceries, shoes, clothes and prepared food delivery are especially popular.

Mitja entered the communication agency business in 1992, when he became a partner at Formitas. He is known as a regional branding expert. As an Executive Director of Direct Media agency (today AM Komunikacije), he started developing a strong connection between media and brand strategies. He wrote two books, “No Friends, No Brands” which was chosen to be the marketing book of the year in Slovenia in 2016, and “Hocus - Pocus: Focus”, mostly oriented on preparing focused media strategy. He was the Professional Director of the Effie Slovenia 2020 competition, and the Slovenian Advertising Chamber awarded him with the title ‘The Advertising Personality’ in 2022.
