Media Consumption Habits in the Czech Republic in 2024
Media consumption in the Czech Republic in 2024 continued shifting towards digital and on-demand formats.
Younger audiences (15–34) spent more time on short-form video platforms like TikTok and YouTube Shorts, while streaming services remained dominant for entertainment across all age groups. Traditional TV viewership declined, especially in urban populations, but remained strong among older demographics.
Podcast and digital audio consumption increased across age groups, particularly during commuting. Social media continued to be a key channel for news, especially for those under 40, with Instagram and TikTok growing as news sources.
Print consumption declined further, while online news portals saw increased traffic, especially during major political and global events. Media multitasking became more common, with users combining multiple screens and platforms. The growth of AI-based personalization, such as content recommendations, also began influencing how content is discovered and consumed.
